These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Bohdan Tkach, doing business as Remli LLC (formation pending) ("Remli," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Remli document-archive service — the web app and the Remli iOS app. By creating an account or using Remli you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled and is part of this agreement.
The service
Remli is a hosted personal document archive: you upload documents (PDFs and images), Remli stores them encrypted, analyzes them with the help of OpenAI's API to suggest titles, dates, tags, and filing locations, and gives you search, folders, an assistant chat, exports, and related tools. Features may change over time as the service develops.
Who may use Remli
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account — tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
- Phone verification is part of sign-up and (optionally) sign-in. By providing your phone number you consent to receiving verification text messages; message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We never send marketing texts.
Your documents stay yours
You retain all rights to the documents you upload. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the service: to store, encrypt, process, back up, and display your documents to you, and to transmit them to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy (OpenAI for analysis, Twilio for verification texts) — solely to provide Remli's features to you, and nothing else. We do not use your documents for advertising, do not sell them, and do not train AI models on them.
Keep your originals — Remli is not your only copy
This is the most important practical term, so we're saying it plainly: do not treat Remli as the sole copy of any document you cannot afford to lose. Remli runs on infrastructure we operate with care, but it is a small service: backups are periodic rather than continuous, and we do not promise any particular level of availability or durability. Keep your original papers or an independent digital copy of anything irreplaceable.
AI-generated suggestions can be wrong
Remli's titles, dates, summaries, extracted details, and assistant answers are generated by AI and can be incorrect, incomplete, or misattributed — that is exactly why every analyzed document waits in your Review Inbox for your approval instead of being filed automatically. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it. Remli is an organizational tool; nothing it produces is legal, financial, medical, or tax advice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content you have no right to possess, or use Remli for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to access another account's data, probe or circumvent Remli's security or rate limits, or disrupt the service;
- abuse the sign-up, verification, or SMS flows (these cost real money and are rate-limited for everyone's benefit);
- resell or provide Remli to third parties as your own service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Where practical we will warn you first; for abuse that threatens the service or other users we may act immediately.
Fees
Remli is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, we will announce them clearly in advance, and no charge will ever apply to you without your explicit agreement.
Availability and changes to the service
Remli is provided without an uptime guarantee. Maintenance, updates, and unforeseen problems can make the service temporarily unavailable. We may modify or discontinue features. If we ever decide to shut Remli down entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice to the email on your account and keep the export feature available during that period so you can take your documents with you.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Remli at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings — deletion starts the 30-day grace period described in the Privacy Policy, after which everything is permanently erased. We may terminate or suspend your access for violation of these Terms as described above. Sections that by their nature should survive (your ownership of your content, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
Disclaimers
Remli is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Without limiting the Privacy Policy's commitments, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that stored data will never be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Remli and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Remli. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington. Both sides consent to venue there.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms are versioned. If we make a material change, we'll publish a new version with a summary of what changed and ask you to accept it the next time you use Remli. We keep a record of every published version and of which version you accepted. Continued use after accepting a new version means the new version applies.
